Valkeniers began her training at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and finished her BA studies at Buckinghamshire New University (UK), after which she pursued a Masters degree at The London College of Fashion.

Kawasaki - a Japanese name, but a Danish brand… Sport shoes in the 70’s, disco shoes in the 80’s, working shoes in the 90’s – today a trendy Retro shoe. This is the story is of a dull communist shoe that was invented by a Danish company and later marked to be the best selling single shoe ever in Denmark. By staying loyal to the core value of the shoe, both when it comes to production and design, Kawasaki was able to carry the shoes over as a true retro product. Production is in fact done on the same premises and with exactly the same machinery, as when it all started 40 years ago.
