The sustainable design of the future is called ClangBoomSteam
Young design student Tobias Noe Harboe won first prize, The Innovation Prize, at the Innovating Sustainable Fashion Show. More than 500 guests attended the sustainable fashion show which last night put the ultra-topical subject of sustainability at the top of the design industry agenda.
The atmosphere was expectant as
compere Camilla Ottesen welcomed everyone to Innovating Sustainable
Fashion at Lokomotivværkstedet - the Locomotive Hall on the evening
of Wednesday 2 December. A total of 31 young aspiring designers
presented their take on innovative and sustainable design which
showcased a diverse and inspiring range of innovative designs. The
show included biodegradable raincoats, futuristic macho streetwear
as well as feminine underwear with flower seeds incorporated into
the design. All the participating design students based their
designs on the competition's common denominator, the concept of
'innovative, sustainable design', and were able to conjure up a
creative universe of sustainable fashion.
Five awards were presented at
the show:

Innovation Award of DKK 15,000 went to ClangBoomSteam
created by Tobias Noe Harboe.
2nd prize/The

The awards were presented by
Christian Stadil, the owner of Hummel, who was among the design
competition's six judges. The idea behind the show originated with
the Centre for Responsible Design which wanted to make the link
between fashion and the idea of sustainability. The show itself was
organised in partnership with Copenhagen Fashion Fairs.
On Tuesday, 8
December, the Centre for Responsible Design and Copenhagen
Fashion Fairs will be organising a reception at the Danish Design
Centre where the students' designs will be on show. Industry
professionals and the general public will have the opportunity to
get a closer look at the participating concepts and designs.
With its focus on innovative and
sustainable design, the Innovating Sustainable Fashion Show was a
contemporary and topical taster for COP15, the Climate Conference
in Copenhagen, which kicks off on Monday 7 December.
