Climate Certificate 2009
CO2focus' Climate CertificateT is hereby issued to
Copenhagen Fashion Fairs: CPH Vision and
Terminal-2 which have been verified according to
the ACAM® model and have compensated for own CO2 emissions
originating from the fairs held in August 2009. The calculation of
the CO2 emissions includes own fuel consumption, 1 500 taxi rides,
300 air flights for exhibitors, electricity and district heating,
general waste and paper and 3 600 meals for the exhibitors during
the fairs.
Copenhagen Fashion Fairs have thus purchased UN
issued emission credits equivalent to their total emissions:
78 tonnes CO2.
The emission credits are issued by UN and called CER (Certified
Emission Reduction). These are part of the Kyoto Protocol's
mechanism to combat global warming, called the Clean Development
Mechanism. A CER is an official emission credit which guarantees
the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and also supports
sustainable growth in developing countries. When a CER is issued he
reduction in greenhouse gas emissions has already taken place. By
purchasing CERs Copenhagen Fashion Fairs are
funding the reduction of GHG emissions equivalent to the face value
of this certificate.
