The Designers' Nest Award February 2010 was held on Saturday 13 February at 3 pm. The award show showcased collections by graduate students from nine Scandinavian design schools:

Danmarks Designskole (Copenhagen), Designskolen (Kolding), TEKO (Herning), Beckmans Designskole (Stockholm), Swedish School of Textiles (Borås), University of Art and Design (Helsinki), Iceland Academy of the Arts, ESMOD (Oslo).

In partnership with Penther/Formes Mannequins and Royal Copenhagen, the Designers' Nest Show and Award are here again to promote the best of Scandinavian design talent and present the award for Best New Talent and a cash prize of DKK 50,000.

Present at the award show were Danish and international press and visitors to CPH Vision and Terminal-2. HRH Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, the patron of Designers' Nest, was unfortunately not able to make it to the show this year.

Our esteemed panel of judges this year included:

Colin McDowell, Senior Fashion Writer for the Sunday Times and Founder of Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden.

Tom Steifel-Kristensen, Creative Director and Fashion Expert.

Alice Leeburn, Style Editor, WGSN.

Hector Castro, Fashion Editor, 10 Magazine.

THE WINNER OF DESIGNERS' NEST FEBRUARY 2010

is Mille Marie Jensen from Designskolen Kolding.

The judges' reason for selecting Mille Marie Jensen was as follows:

"A meanswear collection that we rarely see at college level and shows that meanswear really is all about details and here we've seen them. You may not not notice it on the catwalk but the wearer will enjoy many small twists in this collection."

First runner-up was Anne Birkjær Bitsch from Danmarks Designskole who had made a beautiful women's winter collection.

The winning designs will be showcased at the Royal Copenhagen flagship store in Amagertorv, Copenhagen, from 15 February.

Second runner-up was Kaia Folkvard Rugsveen from Esmod Oslo, who charmed the judges with a collection celebrating a happy childhood.
